Jottobots is a bite sized action adventure platformer with a world to explore and some power ups to collect. Think of it as a mini-metroidvania, if you will. Take control of one of the last surviving Jottobots as he searches for the ray of hope that will save him from the hostile world he has found himself stranded upon.
Originally created for the ARTxGAME Collective, Jottobots is a collaborative effort between illustrator J. Otto Seibold and games craftsman Kyle Pulver. In 2009 the two forces met to create something that would change the course of history forever. The final result was revealed at Giant Robot 2 in Los Angeles in front of an intense crowd comprised of J. Otto fans and passers by. The chosen few of the audience explored Jottobots's depths to the very core well into the night, and left permanently changed.
Afterwards, the game was transported to the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles for a multi-month exhibition along with the other games created for the ARTxGAME Collective. After its time here, Jottobots disappeared into the shadows.
It was picked up again for another short exhibition by two young men and a dream. Walking down a cold city street one fateful afternoon the two found a mysterious looking crumpled up piece of paper that just said one word on it: Jottobots. This time the host was none other than Babycastles way up in New York (City!) The game was playable in a nifty custom built arcade cabinet of sorts, and was on display for unsuspecting victims to play without having to insert any coins or tokens.
Since then there has been no new appearences of the hightly sought after Jottobots. It had been so long that its mere existence had become an echo flowing through the whispers of a rumor. The populace was giving up hope that Jottobots would never be heard from again, as people expressed their hunger through YouTube comments, Twitter, and Facebook... where is Jottobots? How will I be able to play it? Will it ever come out?
Somewhere those cries were heard. After three years of hiding from the public eye, Jottobots has emerged featuring a soundtrack composed by the lovely Josh Whelchel, and an online scoreboard taking advantage of the latest internet technology on computers. Jottobots is finally here, and there's no time like the present! Take destiny into your own hands, and get Jottobots for your Windows enabled PC now!
I hope you like it!
